Independence Peak, Independence Ca, Independence Day Weekend

I was inspired last year by several members of the group. We will be teaming up with the Amateur Sierra Hiking group (Steven). Independence Peak is a short, fun, and challenging route. We will leave from
the Onion Valley Campground on Robinson Lake trail. After a few short miles, reaching Robinson Lake, the off-trail adventure will begin. Summiting Independence Peak will require some Class 3 scrambling towards the top. So please be prepared with the proper gear. Reaching the summit we will be rewarded with breath taking views and raising the American Flag.
Please be well prepared with good sturdy hiking boot/shoes, hat, gloves, sun screen, bug repellent (never know), water, snacks/lunch, optional hiking poles, etc.
