Mono Pass from Mosquito Flat Trailhead + Mount Starr
Details
This is a beautiful moderate hike to Mono Pass in the Eastern Sierra. Starting at Mosquito Flat we will cover lush green meadows, pristine blue lakes, calming babbling creeks to dry, desolate moonscapes until we reach our destination. From there there we may continue a short distance to Summit Lake or climb up to Mount Starr (12,816 ft.). Maybe both. On the way back a short detour to Ruby Lake. Weather, time and trail conditions will determine how far we go.
Please be well prepared with good sturdy hiking boot/shoes, hat, gloves, sun screen, bug repellent (never know), water, snacks/lunch, optional hiking poles, crampons, etc.
