Run Your Own Bitcoin, Lightning and Stacks Nodes
A Bitcoin node is any computer which runs the Bitcoin Core software. It's your own copy of the Bitcoin Ledger and you don’t need to trust other people. Here are some reason why you would want to run your own node:
- Privacy
- Truthful confirmation that you are receiving real bitcoin.
- Defend the Bitcoin rules
- It helps the Bitcoin network.
- Add value to your Social “circle of trust”
- It is Cool and gives you street cred.
Bitcoin Nodes Vs Lightning Network Nodes?
The Bitcoin network requires nodes to validate every transaction on the blockchain, but the Lightning Network only requires nodes to verify transactions that connect directly with it.
Bitcoin Nodes and Stacks Nodes
A local bitcoin node is also required for stacks-node to interact with the bitcoin blockchain.
