Bitcoin & Cards

Dear people of the coin,

This is a small, local meetup to have a drink and a chat with likeminded bitcoiners while playing a friendly game of cards (Toepen). Newbies of Bitcoin, Cards and even Beers are welcome, as everyone is happy to orange, Toep, or beer pill someone.

It is easier to meet, chat and ask questions when doing a shared activity. If players agree, you can wager sat(oshi)s on a game.
As opposed to Bitcoin, Toepen is very newbie friendly. A pick-up game can be played by 3-8 players and it is easy to fork for another table. We are a guest at Bar Leijten, and I defer to their house rules (in our TG chat).

Feel free to bring more friends along, but please RSVP to this event so we can see how many tables (and chairs) we need to reserve. The 90 mins are the walk-in and to explain the rules for newcomers, grab a drink, help people set up a mobile wallet and play a tutorial game. After that, it is highly encouraged to participate in a game with a small wager. Wagers should never exceed beer money. Table rotation comes naturally once we have multiple tables.

Meetup rules:

• these meetups have a simple and singular focus: Bitcoin. All of our topics and discussions will be centered around Bitcoin, the global monetary network, and bitcoin, the reserve asset. If you are interested in crypto tokens, stocks, blockchains, altcoins, alternative investing, NFTs, etc. that is completely fine, but remember all assets will go down relative to Bitcoin over a long time horizon. There are a number of other meetups to join. This meetup however is just focused on Bitcoin.
• please *no photos* unless everyone agrees and there are not any other folks in the background. We respect everyone’s privacy and want everyone to feel comfortable as they participate
• We're among friends, so we limit the wagers to change. The losers of each game transfer the stakes to the winner immediately (pref for Lightning, try MUUN or Bluewallet). There's no escrow, so some trust is involved (and expected) here.
• Feel free to conclude in-person cash/tikkie/transfer trades for Bisq or Peach (BETA soon tm! Inv code: PR9A89), but respect each other's safety and privacy.

• The bar is yet to accept Bitcoin, all help in converting is appreciated :)
