[TOPIC CHANGED] Segwit2X Hard-Fork abandonned: analysis, impact and celebration!

Important update!

As of November 8th 2017, the Bitcoin hard-fork has been called-off by its initiators. This means that Segwit2X is officially dead!

However, we still feel it is important to explain what happened, that the impacts will be and what we can expect from the future.

As stauch opponents of Segwit2X, we also feel it is a good occasion to celebrate this historic victory!

Consequently, THE MEETUP WILL NOT BE CANCELLED!

We won't be adding more spaces to the meetup since we no longer feel it is a matter of urgency.

The Bitcoin network will be forked around November 15th, an event which will lead to the creation of a new cryptocurrency called "B2X"

Soft start: 18h00
Hard start: 18h15 (don't be late!)

This event is likely to severly disrupt the Bitcoin network, and users are at risk of losing funds during this event if they are not prepared.

This event is also a financial opportunity for those who are prepared, as they will be able to take advantage of arbitrage opportuinities.

IMPORTANT NOTES

• This is an advanced technical meetup for Bitcoin users

• There is limited space (only 70 people). If you do not want to specifically learn about Bitcoin splits, please do not come!

• There will be no practical workshop, you are not encouraged to bring bitcoins with you to this event.

MEETUP FORMAT

• The meetup will be a 1h30 presentation by Francis Pouliot, followed by 1h of Q&A

• There will be no panel or group discussion.

• There will be no other presentation that the Segwit2X lecture.
