Bitcoin is the new gold, and Quebec is the El Dorado!

This meetup will be the first of a series of many focusing specifically on "crypto mining".

Bitcoin mining is like the far west: we are pushing the frontier, with many opportunities but also many dangers. The best way for Bitcoin miners to compete with the centralized Bitcoin mining monopolies that pose a constant threat to Bitcoin is by coming together, share our ressources and knowledge. By cooperating, we can achieve incredible economies of scale.

Over the past years, Quebec has become one of the global Bitcoin mining hubs worldwide. Recently, Hydro-Québec made very positive announcements: the electricity surplus in Quebec is decreasing (they say "data centers", we think it's probably mining farms) for the first time in 12 years and they are launching initiatives that will attract international crypto mining operations. Very soon, Quebec's energy policy will be inherently associated to the Bitcoin mining ecosystem. Bitcoin mining is never going to disappear: we're still at the beginning!

This meetup will also be an opportunity for attendees to get an exclusive sneak peak at "The Blockhouse" before its official launch - the world's most awesome physical crypto hub.
