Bitcoin Montreal Socratic Seminars

NEW MONTHLY BITCOIN EVENT SERIES!

The MTL Bitcoin Socratic Seminars are monthly events, inspired by the NYC BitDevs, with a local Montreal flavor.

It is designed for folks interested in talking about Bitcoin developments, open-source projects, and related protocols such as the Lightning Network, sidechains, or CoinJoins. No shitcoinery.

All are welcome: attendees can be well versed or new to the field.

SOCRATIC SEMINARS

Discussions are formatted to optimize group learning with open information sharing and candid debate.

In the week prior to the event, topics are assembled by members from a variety of sources: popular git repositories, research papers, blog posts, relevant news updates, network monitors and more.

To complete the meeting, members present open-source projects, companies, research or any other relevant materials. A feedback and Q&A section follow. After the event the group gathers at a nearby bar to socialize.

A newsletter is sent out prior to the event which outlines discussion topics. The event is NEVER recorded to preserve the privacy of everyone. No photos are allowed. Let’s all respect that.

FIRST EVENT DETAILS

The first edition of this event will take place on the 5th of February at WeWork L’Avenue, 1275 Avenue Canadiens-de-Montreal, Montreal. Once at the destination address, indications will show go to get to the 5th floor where we will be expecting you.

Attendees are welcome from 18:00 and the seminar will begin at 18:15 precisely.
