This time we'll take a look at the use case of games utilizing blockchains. We're excited to welcome the people behind "Spells of Genesis" and "Beyond the Void", so we'll have opportunity to learn about (and try!) these games, hear about the challenges, and discuss how the blockchain can be "gamed" for viable business models in the game development industry, with insights hopefully transferable to other areas as well.
Some believe 2018 will be the year of in-game assets, so let's find out!

"Spells of Genesis" is a mobile game that is a mix of a trading card game (TCG), bringing in deck collection and strategy, along with arcade-style gaming aspects. The game is based on blockchain technology (running on Bitcoin's Counterparty protocol). The important gaming assets (powerful cards) are fully owned by players as tokens in their e-wallets, ready to be sent to friends or to be sold and bought on a decentralized trading exchange.

"Beyond The Void" is a unique combination of strategy and 1vs1 competitive game that takes place in a world between science-fiction and fantasy. As a mercenary captain, you are in command of a mothership. Your goal is to forge a strong fleet to conquer your opponent's home planet. Its online shop is based on the Ethereum blockchain, giving players true ownership of their assets.
