The Bitcoin MultiSeries 6of6 - Beyond Money: What Blockchains Are and Aren't For

This is the final talk of a 6-part educational series presented on Saturday afternoons by speaker Mario Gibney of Blockstream.

This time we're going to stretch the topic a little further beyond Bitcoin, and venture into the realm of cryptocurrencies and Blockchains in general.

We'll talk about the specific problem that a blockchain sets out to solve, how it achieves this, and what tradeoffs have to be made.

In doing so, we'll also explore problems that blockchains have not been shown to help with, why proven alternatives to proof-of-work have yet to emerge, and why so many unusual challenges arise in the cryptocurrency and blockchain space.

There will be plenty of time for questions and discussion after the presentation is done, and the material should be accessible and interesting to people of all backgrounds and levels of Bitcoin expertise.
