Blockchain Gaming: Play Plasma Dog with Hoard

Details

It's time once again for the monthly Blockchain Gaming Meetup, a series of events hosted by www.blockchaingaming.com, the first website dedicated to blockchain-based video games. Massive attention (and money) is being poured into this sub-industry following the popular success of CryptoKitties, and we're going to cover every blockchain game one by one and livestream it to our YouTube channel for educational purposes.

Every month, another established blockchain platform enters the blockchain gaming arena. One of the most recent is OMG, which actually stands for OmiseGO and is among the top 30 coins on CoinMarketCap. As stated on their Wikipedia page, it is an Ethereum-based decentralized exchange and payment system, and was the first Ethereum token to exceed a market cap of $1 billion.

Their foray into blockchain gaming is called Hoard. It's a software development kit enabling game developers to easily tokenize their creations, and thereby trade them on the decentralized exchange. They've already used it to create a simple game called Plasma Dog, which was launched on the testnet in preparation for DevCon 4.

The Hoard team is sending an envoy from Seattle for this event! They'll tell you all about OMG, Hoard and Plasma Dog and answer all of your questions, and then we're going to play the game itself. Feel free to have a Bitcoin beer and talk about blockchain games while we play; in keeping with time-honored tradition, the active player shall rotate upon death, and the high score earner shall be forever immortalized.
