Crypto for Newcomers: Ask Us Anything

Have you been wanting to learn more about bitcoin and cryptocurrencies but you're just not sure where to start? Do you have a long list of questions you're looking to have answered? Want to chat with a bunch of other newcomers looking to get involved in the space?

Join us at Waves Coffee house @ Howe & Smithe for our second Crypto for Newcomers event! Here you'll be able to ask pretty much any question you think of, and we think we should be able to answer most of them for you. There is no such thing as a stupid question! It will also be great opportunity for you to chat with other like-minded newcomers in a casual & relaxed setting.

Examples of questions you might have:

• What's the difference between bitcoin, cryptocurrency, and blockchain?
• What purposes / use cases do cryptocurrencies currently serve, and what uses might they have in the future?
• Just how secure are cryptocurrencies anyways? I've heard they've been hacked before.
• What are the benefits and detractors of cryptocurrencies when compared to traditional currencies?
• Are cryptocurrencies just a fad that will die soon enough? Prices declined 80-90% in 2018 didn't they?
• What are the most important characteristics of cryptocurrencies? Can they be created by governments or private companies like Facebook?
• What bitcoin wallets do you recommend using?
• What are the best ways to buy, sell & use Bitcoin?
• How do I report cryptocurrencies on my taxes?
• What resources do you recommend checking out to learn more about blockchain technology and cryptocurrency?

Do keep in mind there are some questions we'll either decline to answer or at the very least won't give you a straight answer on (e.g. Which cryptocurrency should I invest in?).
