Privacy Coins & Technology
Hosted by Bitcoin-N-Beers Vancouver
Details
Hey Everyone, the main topic for this event will be privacy coins and technology.
We'll be talking about privacy coins and just how important they'll be in the future. Right now, the most popular privacy coins are Monero (XMR) and ZCash (ZEC), but there are quite a few other privacy coins as well!
We'll be talking about the technologies used to enhance privacy (e.g. Ring Signatures, zk-Snarks, Confidential Transactions).
We'll be talking about efforts that are being undertaken or proposed to improve privacy in Bitcoin itself, and just how effective they will be (e.g. Dandelion, Mimblewimble, Schnorr Signatures, PayNyms, Coinjoin/Mixers). Do they offer sufficient privacy or is it largely a lost cause due to Bitcoin being too traceable?
We'll talk about attack vectors used to deanonymize transactions and ownership of crypto assets (e.g. Dusting attacks, packet sniffing).
Finally, we'll take a look at things from a political lens. Will governments undertake efforts to prevent the adoption of privacy coins or technology? How important is financial privacy? Is financial privacy important to have to ensure the world doesn't become a real-life 1984 as is the case in China & Hong Kong?
