Hardware Wallet Demo ~ {Workshop}
Details
All ages and experience levels are welcome. If you’re new, you’ll find friendly faces excited and ready to show you the ropes. If you’re a bitcoin or open blockchain expert, you’ll find like-minded people to discuss new or existing projects.
Join us for our monthly workshop! They're fun, informative, and highlight interesting and relevant topics to the bitcoin and open blockchain community. During the workshops we host a main speaker, several speakers for a panel discussion, or provide a hands-on demo / learning session.
For this workshop we'll be offering a hands-on demonstration of hardware wallets. These devices have become popular because they offer an easy way to keep your bitcoin and blockchain keys secure. So far we've got Trezor (https://mytrezor.com/#/), Ledger (https://www.ledgerwallet.com/), and Keep Key (https://www.keepkey.com/) devices and we're hoping to add at least one more. Each one has different features and integrations, for example some work with alt-coins, some integrate with software wallets. At the workshop we'll present a brief and balanced overview of each device, it's features and drawbacks (not sales pitches). Then you'll be able to try the device yourself at one of the testing stations we'll have set up.
All monthly workshop events include lightning talks by community members. In 3-minutes anyone can present their idea, ask for help, recruit partners, or launch new projects. It's a perfect opportunity to find co-founders, coders, advisors, designers, and clients to help make your idea a reality. Look for the sign-up sheet at the registration table.
Plan to arrive between 3:30-3:50pm for networking and socializing until 4:00pm. Workshop events officially begin at 4:00pm and end between 5:00-5:30pm. Of course everyone is welcome to stay and continue the conversation at Geek Bar even after the event officially ends. The venue is family friendly with games for kids of all ages, food, and drink.
