Join us on January 3rd 2019 to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of the Bitcoin genesis block!

Our celebrations will feature special guest Jameson Lopp.

Jameson is a Cypherpunk who enjoys building technology that empowers individuals. He is the CTO of Casa, founder of Mensa's Bitcoin Special Interest Group, the Triangle Bitcoin & Business meetup, and several open source Bitcoin projects. He is passionate about sharing his expertise and technical knowledge of crypto assets, his philosophical approach to understanding the systems, and his opinion on the consensus of their participants.

Jameson will talk about his crypto security work and then join us for a chat about the first 10 years of Bitcoin.

This is a {talk}, but it’s also a party! Please wear all your crypto gear!

There will be food, beer, wine, music and a raffle featuring awesome products from local crypto businesses and artists including…

A print of crypto artist Josie Bellini’s “Filter”, https://josie.io/
(Josie will also have more pieces available for sale at the event.)

A Crypto Key Stack, https://cryptokeystack.com/

And a Casa node! https://keys.casa/lightning-bitcoin-node/
(Okay, not exactly local, but awesome!)

Lightning Talks: This talk will include lightning talks by community members. In 2 minutes anyone can present their idea, ask for help, recruit partners, or launch new projects. It's a perfect opportunity to find co-founders, coders, advisors, designers, and clients to help make your idea a reality. If you would like to present, please send BOB a message via the meetup.com group. There will be a limited number of spots, first come first serve.

Who should attend? All ages and experience levels are welcome. If you’re new, you’ll find friendly faces excited and ready to show you the ropes. If you’re a Bitcoin or open-blockchain expert, you’ll find like-minded people to discuss new or existing projects with.

Logistics: The event will be held at 6pm at mHUB, which is an innovation center for physical product development and manufacturing and a co-working community. It is located just east of Chicago Ave and Milwaukee Ave, just a few blocks from the Kennedy expressway and the Blue line. We will be in the big room, straight down the hall. Look for the BOB signs when you arrive. You are welcome to BYOB.

(Disclosure: Crypto Key Stack founder Chris Gonyo is a BOB organizer)
