BTCPay Server {Workshop}

BTCPay Server is a free and open-source cryptocurrency payment processor which allows you to receive payments in Bitcoin and altcoins directly, with no fees, transaction cost or a middleman. It is a cross platform, self-hosted server compatible with Bitpay API. https://github.com/btcpayserver/btcpayserver RockstarDev, one of BTCPay Server’s primary developers, will be presenting the project and showing us how to get involved.

RockstarDev has been developing awesome tech for the last 20 years. He has worked in various US startups during the last decade, overseeing tech development from initial investment to multi-million dollar exits. He is a huge fan of Bitcoin, partially thanks to a childhood heavily influenced by hyperinflation, and is looking forward to the decentralized future of money.

This workshop will focus on helping participants to join the ranks of developers working on Bitcoin infrastructure by going through process of creating pull request on BtcPayServer repository.
This includes: 1. Setting up development environment 2. Overview of BtcPayServer architecture and history behind it 3. Joining collaborator channels and social accounts 4. Starting git, getting our hands dirty and implementing PR on whatever we can in short time frame.
We will interact with community and get their feedback in real time while we code.

You can get the most out of the workshop by getting your laptop setup prior to the event.
