BIG SEPTEMBER MEETUP — Roger9000 on The Beautiful Balance of Bitcoin

Bitcoin is usually discussed as money, technology, economics, or politics. But what if it can also be understood as something more personal — a mirror through which to examine value, identity, freedom, and our relationship with the world around us?
At September's meetup, author Roger9000 will be presenting on his new book, The Beautiful Balance of Bitcoin.
Drawing on Jungian philosophy, Mayan mythology, medieval alchemy and the work of Joseph Campbell, Roger explores Bitcoin from a very different perspective: as a mythic and transformational force, and as a tool for examining the individual as much as the monetary system.
The talk will explore ideas from the book including Bitcoin as a modern-day Philosopher's Stone, the hero's journey of the Bitcoiner, low time preference as a personal practice, the shadow side of "Number Go Up", and the relationship between Bitcoin, value, freedom, love and truth.
It should make for a particularly interesting discussion whether you agree with Roger's interpretation or simply want to hear Bitcoin examined through a lens very different from the usual economic and technical ones.
