This is the day that User Activated Soft Fork (UASF) BIP148 was meant to enforce SegWit. Instead is has become the day that Jihan Wu and Roger Ver launches their centralized 8MB altcoin Bitcoin Cash (BCC) So a perfect day to launch our Meetup - a lot to talk about!

SegWit has though already been secured by BIP91. SegWit is the scaling solution that will allow for the technologies that will take Bitcoin to a huge global payment system with transaction capacity like VISA card and beyond.

However instead 1st of August has become the launch date of likely Bitmain owned viaBTCs altcoin BCC (Bitcoin Cash). This will be a highly centralized coin, which means that miners can do whatever they want with it and your holdings and is therefore very likely to be rejected by the market and priced very low.

The true potential of Bitcoin is about to be unleashed and this is very exciting times.
