New Year’s Eve Decentralized Dance Party - Vancouver!

This New Year’s Eve, we’re broadcasting a live CITY-WIDE dance Party that the entire city can join. By synchronizing the FM radios found in cars, home stereos and thousands of boom boxes, we will create a massive Decentralized Sound System that will unite The Entire Lower Mainland in a record-setting mobile celebration! This Party is organized by the Decentralized Dance Party (DDP), a global collective of Party Revolutionaries who believe that “Capital-P Partying” is the unlikely key to uniting all humanity and brokering world peace. THE THEME:
The theme is: #PromLuck. Yes, high school prom meets hearty potluck feast. In the streets. For hours on end. With thousands of synchronized speakers blasting from all directions. It’s going to be wild.

And it’s easy to join!
Just bring out some food to share and slap on sunglasses and a suit / dress / something prom-like OR wear something food-related e.g. chef / waiter / banana / tea pot / dinner fork / etc. If you’re unable to sort that out, just don something weird / bright / funny / outrageous. But whatever you do, definitely bring the sunglasses and an appetite for good snacks and great times.

HOW AN FM RADIO-TRANSMITTED PARTY WORKS:
The DDP consists of hundreds of Party people, carrying boomboxes, and a DJ who wears a backpack, containing an FM radio transmitter. All the boomboxes are tuned into the DJ’s master FM broadcast, resulting in a mobile, synchronized sound system. This Open-Source Dance Party roams the night, generating complete awesomeness, street by street and block by block, onto buses and subways, into public fountains and beyond. Inevitably interfacing with the public, together we create an infectious epidemic of fun, a roaming Party adventure that lasts all night long.

But that’s not all!

In order to take the Party to the next level for New Year’s Eve, we’re teaming up with Vancouver's own FM 100.5 CFRO Community Radio to rebroadcast our signal out across the entire Lower Mainland and our “Tinder Of Partying” app will instantly connect all tuned-in Partiers to create a giant city-wide Party!

THE STARTING LOCATIONS:
The starting locations for the the six converging mobile Parties will be announced on Christmas Eve. If you can't make it to the starting locations or won't be downtown, just get yourself an FM radio and use the DDP app to instantly locate anyone in the Lower Mainland who is near you and Ready To Party.

ALL-AGES!
DDPs are hosted exclusively in public spaces and completely open and we take pride in creating the most inclusive Party possible. EVERYONE, of every AGE, BACKGROUND and STYLE is 100% welcome and will be accepted with open arms and high-fives.

People show up to DDPs with their kids and parents all the time. Homeless people join in wherever we go. People in wheelchairs too. It's all good. The more diversity the better. Music is the universal human language, dancing is the universal human movement, and Partying is the Universal Human Identity!
