To celebrate Bitcoin Wednesday's 2 and 1/2 year anniversary, our 30th consecutive monthly Bitcoin Wednesday event, Bitcoin Wednesday presents:

Amsterdam's second annual Bitcoin Film Festival.

The festival will feature a keynote by Brett Scott (http://www.bitcoinwednesday.com/profile-brett-scott/), one of the stars of the VPRO's recent program "Het Bitcoin evangelie."

Brett Scott is author of The Heretic's Guide to Global Finance. In the VPRO's documentary about Bitcoin, "Het Bitcoin evangelie," Brett was possibly one of the stars of the program.

About The Bitcoin Film Festival

One of Amsterdam's newest film festivals (http://www.bitcoinwednesday.com/bitcoin-film-festival-2015/) will be held this year on 2 December in The Melkweg cinema. The Melkweg is one of Amsterdam's premier concert halls at the heart of the city, near the Leidseplein at Lijnbaansgracht 134a.

The festival is part of a global tour of films about the digital currency revolution organized in cooperation with Bitfilm and being held in 16 cities, including Berlin, Saigon, Budapest, Mexico City, Montevideo and London.

The festival is €12 if you buy tickets in advance with Bitcoin and €15 if you pay with old fashioned cash.

Dinner, Drinks and Discussions

There will be a pre-conference reception and benefit dinner including presentations on Bitcoin, cryptocurrencies and the Blockchain starting at 15:00.

One of The Netherlands' first Bitcoin entrepreneurs, founder of Bitmymoney Robert-Reinder Nederhoed (http://www.bitcoinwednesday.com/profile-robert-reinder-nederhoed/) will talk about what it's like to be running a Bitcoin business in The Netherlands;

Cryptocurrency adviser Toufic "Tey" AlRJoula (http://www.bitcoinwednesday.com/profile-toufic-alrjoula/) will give a Bitcoin demo and will explain in a fast and easy way what a Bitcoin is;

Thomas Kemmere (http://www.bitcoinwednesday.com/profile-thomas-kemmere/), a professional trainer and founder of Bitcoin Uitleg, will give an intro to Bitcoin, cryptocurrencies and the Blockchain;

The Films

The following works will be honored during this year's edition of the festival:

Bitcoin: The End of Money As We Know It
This entertaining, hour-long documentary by Melbourne-based Torsten Hoffman covers the history of money and shows how the emergence of Bitcoin naturally fits into this context.

Finding Satoshi Nakamoto
A humorous short film shot on the streets of New York City pokes fun of the Bitcoin mythology. It also appears to be a backhanded critique of the media's seeming inability to get the facts right.

Bitcoin for the Intelligent Layperson
This educational short animation was created by Tomasz Kaye who lives in The Netherlands.

Factom is Forever
A short animation by Dutch creator Joeri Pross illustrates some of the nonfinancial applications of the Blockchain.

Crypto Currencies: The Gold of the Digital Age
A fascinating Russian documentary unveils the perspective of those living in a country where the government has expressed plans to jail anyone exchanging bitcoins for ruble.

How Bitcoin is Like the Internet in the 80s
This animated short explores Bitcoin's impact as an innovative payment network.

Ulterior States
This thought-provoking documentary by Tomer Kantor explores the philosophical, political and ideological motivations of the digital currency revolution through the words of some of the movement's best-known thinkers.

The Dinner

Dinner will be served from 1700 - 1900 at the Melkweg restaurant, Eat at Jo's. Dinner includes free admission to the festival.

It is €29 if you buy dinner tickets in advance with Bitcoin and €35 if you pay with old fashioned cash. (A place at dinner gets you free admission to the entire festival.)

Dinner is a choice between:

• Slowly cooked beef with ginger;

• Traditional lamb stew with carrots, potatoes and peas; or

• Vegetarian lasagna with spinach and three cheeses and an herbal tomato sauce.

Also served will be green salad with balsamic dressing, dinner rolls with butter, roasted potatoes with rosemary and olive oil, and fresh steamed vegetables.

There will be a cash bar for drinks throughout the evening.
