Ever broken a production report because some parameter was still pointing to your dev environment? Manually updating parameters every time you promote content is tedious, error-prone, and doesn't scale. It becomes even harder to manage in Fabric where so many different types of artifacts exist!
Microsoft Fabric's Variable Libraries solve this.
In this session, I’ll walk you through how to centralize environment-specific settings and manage them cleanly across your Fabric deployment pipeline – no more hardcoding, no more manual edits (well, almost 😉).
Through live demos, we'll build a Variable Library from scratch, structure it for real-world use, and apply the right values for each environment. You'll leave with a practical approach you can implement immediately.
In this session, you'll learn how to:

  • Identify configuration problems that Variable Libraries are designed to solve
  • Create and structure a Variable Library in Microsoft Fabric
  • Manage environment-specific values
  • Apply best practices to keep your configurations organized and maintainable

Whether you're new to Fabric or looking to clean up your current workflow, you'll walk away with the confidence to make your solutions more consistent, reliable, and easier to manage.
