Welcome to the next meetup of The Japan Table!

This time, we’re getting together to watch the opening day of the September Grand Sumo Tournament—but there’s no pressure to follow every match!

Come along if you enjoy Japanese culture, want to learn a little about sumo, or simply feel like having a relaxed Sunday-afternoon chat over coffee. You’re welcome to watch, chat, or do a bit of both.
We may talk about Japan, sumo, travel, food—or anything else that comes up. No Japanese required, and no sumo knowledge needed.

📍 Location
Near Sukhumvit (TBD)
I’m looking for a place where we can borrow a monitor for the viewing. If that doesn’t work out, we’ll meet at IKEA Swedish Restaurant & Café, Sukhumvit instead. In that case, we’ll watch on my laptop screen.
