BKK Web meetup - Jan 2011

Hello everyone,

First of all, happy new year to everyone! This year should be an exciting year. A lot of tablets are coming to the market, Android 3.0 has just been released as well as Drupal 7 (awesome release!), HTML5 is being more widely adopted, Quora.com is setting the stage, Google Chrome just enter the new year with 10% of market share, etc, etc... It should be an interesting year for all of us and bring great business opportunities.

In one week exactly, it will be two years I live in Thailand and I love it. Asia is moving really fast and we can really feel it from where we stand. It will be interesting to see how it evolves in the next few years.

UPDATE 1: CANCELED: Ches Martin kindly accepted to do a presentation about Ruby on Rails for this session. Ruby on Rails is an open source web framework developed by the guys at 37signals.

UPDATE 2: There's been some changes. Finally Ches will be presenting Ruby on Rails in February and Andrea will take his place for this month. Topic: the Google Android platform, and the possibility to build a new generation of applications applying computer vision techniques to Android.
