“Beyond the Clouds: Local AI, Openclaw and Data Sovereignty”
AI is quickly moving from simple chatbots to systems that remember our work, use tools and run agents. But most of that memory, data and control still lives inside somebody else’s cloud.
For businesses, the question goes beyond where a model runs. Who owns the company’s accumulated knowledge? What information may leave its systems? Who approves an agent’s actions? How can teams review what happened afterward? Companies are often forced to choose between powerful cloud platforms they do not fully control and fragmented local tools that are difficult to manage.
Marco and JR will examine the current state of local AI, what can run on consumer and enterprise hardware, where cloud models still have an advantage, and how both can work together while keeping sensitive data under organizational control.
The presentation will also demonstrate Velociti, a local-first AI workspace designed to bring models, memory, tools, agents, permissions and audit records into one controlled environment. The argument is simple. Models and providers will change, but personal data, company knowledge and operational authority should remain with the people and organizations that created them.
