Well, hi there.

Excited to note we’ve crossed the 1,700 members mark – thank you! It was only “yesterday” we were 400 plus. There were no Trader Joe’s in the boroughs. Whole Foods was still new in town. The award-winning Cinnamon Snail wasn’t quite an idea. Red Bamboo reigned. Vegucated was an idea in someone’s head. And NYU's monthly Vegan Nights were loud and proud.

These days we have Facebook to also help us make new friends all over the metro AND 'round the world. We have Pinterest and many blogs to reach, teach and seduce us with photos and recipes. iPhones and the like to make how to videos or otherwise document our meals at home, work or EatUP!

We even have a former U.S. president who’s gone vegan AND been OUT about it. Perhaps the least likely of the bunch to boot – WOWIE.

So the seasons pass and the vegan tipping point is coming close. Would put a bit of money on 2014 myself.

Happy to tell you this RoundUP was delayed by a work trip to the Dominican Republic. I went to represent Vegucated at its 8th film festival. Incredible time there. A great many photos and comments about it all are here.
