About us
Welcome to the Black Butterfly ADHD & Xennial Connection Group
I started this group because, over the past year, I realized how often I feel misunderstood. Between navigating life with ADHD, the ups and downs of being an elder millennial/xennial (born 1976-1985), and just living while being a Black Woman, it sometimes feels like I’m the only one dealing with all of it. So I figured, if I can find a bunch of women like me, maybe I’ll feel less alone. And if I can help others feel that too, all the better.
This isn’t your typical meetup. I’m not here to sell you anything or give you the “perfect” group vibe. If you’re like me, you’re probably tired of people pretending to have it all figured out or expecting everything to be super organized. This is just a space to show up, be real, and connect with other women who get it. Each week, we do something different, so it doesn’t get stale, but it’s consistent enough to build some routine in my life!
Here’s what it'll look like:
- Week 1 – Book Club: We read one chapter at a time. No rushed deadlines, just a chance to dive deep into the book and how it resonates.
- Week 2 – Quick Cooking: We’ll make easy, quick meals on Zoom together. We'll be contributing positively to the household, making something simple, and chatting while we cook.
- Week 3 – Move Your Body: Whether it’s dancing, stretching, or yoga, we’ll do something that gets us moving. No pressure, just getting the body moving however feels good. Movement is a good waist to get out of your head and into your body.
- Week 4 – Craft & Create: Bring whatever project you’re working on. We’ll all make our something together, or just hang out and vibe.
It’s about connecting in a way that feels real and low-stress. There’s no agenda beyond making space for each other. You don’t have to show up “perfect” or fully put together. This is just about real women, with real lives, making space for each other.
