One of today’s most exciting voices in literary fiction is coming to Hayti.

Brit Bennett author of “The Mothers” and the National Book Award-nominated “The Vanishing Half”, is making her way to Hayti on Thursday, May 7, at 6:30 pm for a conversation about reimagining Black identity in the American South.

Moderated by Durham’s own Khalisa Rae—poet, educator, and community activist—this conversation will explore the self-determined towns that forged their own destinies, the personal choices that define race and family, and what it means to reshape narratives in a place like Hayti.

The organizer is offering a complimentary ticket to one attendee. If you would like to receive this complimentary ticket please send me a message.

(Hi friends! This isn’t my event, but the organizer asked me to share it, and I wanted to pass it along. I’ll be there too, and it sounds like it’s going to be such a fun time!)
