Physical comedy, fabrication, miming, movement, puppetry … oh my!
Hi everyone! I’m Hazel, a grad student starting up a club for those interested in black light theatre and puppetry (targeting age range 23-33 y/o, somewhat flexible depending on group dynamics). Looking for people of all sorts of talents, not just performers but also techies, managers, creatives etc who want to hang and make and get silly. I’m hoping to do something flexible and casual that still culminates in occasional performances.
Black Light Theatre started in Prague in the 60s. It has actors as well as puppeteers dressed in black that create optical illusions on stage, and often uses on physical comedy, music, miming and dance in its performances. I’m open to going where everyone wants to take things with this— I was super inspired by the BLT I saw this summer, so while that’s a goal of mine, we’ll start where we start and go where we go. Puppet projects and improv welcome.
