ATTENDANCE POLICY

This attendance policy is for in-person and online events. It has been created in response to a high number of no-shows at some meetups.

Much work goes into organizing Black Moms Social Club meetups. It's disrespectful for a member to sign up for an event and then fail to show up, or cancel at the last minute.

Sometimes members with good attendance records are ill or there's an emergency preventing attendance. This is understandable. However, some members chronically fail to show up. This is not acceptable.

This policy is designed to:

· Reward members with good attendance records
· Promote "responsible attendance" in which members demonstrate respect and courtesy for the Black Moms Social Club hosts by showing up for the meetups they have signed up for
· Ensure members who attend Black Moms Social Club meetups are vested in our group
· Prevent abuse of privileges by members who are not vested in our group
· Discourage hoarding of attendees' spots at limited-space meetups by members who have no serious intention of actually attending the meetup

DEFINITION OF A NO-SHOW

For the purposes of this attendance policy, a "no show" at a meetup is defined as:

· Failure of a member to attend an event for which she has signed up and is on the attendees' list for OR
· Changing a signup on the day of the meetup, or any time after 10 p.m. the night before, from attending to not attending.

For events in which the member has paid an admission fee and doesn’t show, a "no show" will NOT be recorded.

MEMBERS WITH GOOD ATTENDANCE

Members with good attendance records will be given priority for attendance at events with waiting lists, for day trips, for passenger spots in carpools and for special perks such as free tickets.

Members with good records may be given special consideration if they no-show at a meetup.

EVENTS WITH WAIT LISTS

Members with good, established records will be given priority for attendee spots for limited-attendance events.

Members, who owe meetup or other fees, and/or who have poor attendance records (2 no shows), will NOT be given spot(s) on attendees' lists for limited-attendance events.

MEMBERS WITH POOR ATTENDANCE

A member with a poor attendance record (2 no shows) will lose her privilege of being on an attendees' list for Black Moms Social Club limited-space events.

The member may restore this privilege by:

· attending more Black Moms Social Club meetups so that the number of times he or she attended exceeds the number of meetups he or she no-showed at

A member will be removed from Black Moms Social Club if the number of her no-shows exceeds by 3 the number of events they attended.

A member may also be removed if she frequently cancels her signup with less than 24 hours' notice.

REFUSAL TO PAY NON-REFUNDABLE MEETUP ADMINISTRATION FEE

Some meetups may require members to remit a non-refundable meetup administration fee of $3 upon RSVPing.

A member who refuses to pay the meetup administration fee will be removed from Black Moms Social Club.

A member who shows up for an event with a meetup administration fee, without RSVPing, must pay the non-refundable $3 fee via e-transfer to [mamasconnectsn@gmail.com](mailto:mamasconnectsn@gmail.com) before or upon arrival should they wish to join and socialize with the group. Refusal to pay the meetup fee while socializing with members will also result in removal from the Group.
