Black Professionals United (otherwise: BPU) is a community committed to connecting skilled black professionals and entrepreneurs to promote business success, professional development and career progression.

In return, enhancing upward social mobility and financial viability among black communities across the UK and Europe.

What can you offer me? We partner with notable professionals to organise a range of events to help our guests develop key skills such as: effective job hunting; writing applications; interview techniques; starting a business; team building; networking and many more.

Who is this group for? We are focused on connecting both established and up and coming black professionals and entrepreneurs from across all disciplines, including entrepreneurs, education, communications, science, technology, engineering, maths and politics, among others.

What makes this group different from the rest? While we are in no way trying to compete with other organisations, BPU is a growing international network with the power to connect members across the UK and Europe to provide an integrated professional networking solution across black communities.

Why are you doing this? BPU acknowledges the social challenges black communities face and are committed to being a source of community-led professional development to create a safe space in which we help connect and promote qualified black leaders at the highest levels of society,  improve financial prowess and promote “qualified” black role models who can inspire future black leaders.

People look young and pretty in the photos, am I too old? Don't worry. The majority of people who attend our events are between 25 to 40, but we still get people from outside those parameters too.

What are your views towards professionals from other races? We choose to personally view professionals from all races on an even playing field. One love always.

I’m nervous. This will be my first time joining something like this. Don’t worry. Our gatherings are also perfect for anyone attending for the first time and/ or alone. This is because all our guests will be encouraged to interact with one another.

How many people attend your events?  It really does depend on the event. Most of our guests are not members of MeetUp, so no need to be alarmed by the small numbers here.

Any freebies? We’re working on it.
