Born in Denmark 55 years ago, where I went to school and started an education as a Carpenter. That was cut short due to a serious injury (I cut my hand on an electric table saw) so I studied Construction Management. Fell in love with a German woman on a field trip to Tunisia (North Africa) and moved in with her in Germany after my studies was finished in January of 1988.
I was working for a German architect on-site of a project in Berlin the week the wall came down (And NO it was NOT because of Reagan’s “work”, but because of Mikhail Gorbachev’s transformation of the former Soviet Union from a Marxism-Leninism regime to a Social Democracy). I switched job to work for the 8th biggest Contractor in the world (at the time) HOCHTIEF AG as a project manager in 1991. At the same time I was introduced to my now wife Jenny (an American living and studying in German).
In 1999 HOCHTIEF AG bought Turner Construction Company and I got a job with them as a senior project manager in 2000 in San Francisco, CA. The Tech Boom turned into a Tech Bust in the fall of 2000, and the division I was working for in San Francisco lost 90% of their costumers overnight. They held on to me until 2002 where 80% of the staff was laid off due to lack of new costumers. I work on a resort project in Calistoga for Taisei Construction Company in 2003 until I turned self-employed in 2004 where I started my own investment company (Boomerang Property Solutions). Since 2004 I have actively worked on about 30 projects on my own or with partners.
