For many Black religious trauma survivors, December can be a complicated month. While the world celebrates Christmas, some survivors often wrestle with memories of church-centered rituals, pressure to perform religious traditions, or painful associations with the holidays. Many feel disconnected from the Christian meaning of the season — yet still desire warmth, connection, culture, and meaning during this time of year.

This gathering is a space to reimagine December on your own terms.
Together, we’ll explore culturally rooted, ancestral, creative, and non-religious rituals that honor who we are as Black people — beyond the constraints of religious narratives.

This is an open, peer-supported conversation where you can share experiences, learn alternatives, and gain ideas for making December meaningful without religious pressures or shame.

You deserve holidays that feel authentic, grounding, and free — not triggering or guilt-filled.
Come reimagine December with a community that understands.
See you on Thursday 12/11/25 @7pm EST!
