What we’re about
WELCOME TO THE BLACK ROSE ACOUSTIC SOCIETY
Ask about acoustic music in the Colorado Springs area, and folks will undoubtedly mention The Black Rose Acoustic Society. Over 30 years ago, several local musicians formed our non-profit organization to actively foster music played on traditional, acoustic instruments and to provide a supportive audience for traditional musicians at all levels. Today, The Black Rose is the home of handmade acoustic music in the Pikes Peak Region.
CONCERTS
Twice each month, on second and fourth Fridays, we hold concerts at the Black Forest Community Center just north of Colorado Springs. On these evenings, fans gather to hear wonderful music and to experience the heart-warming ambiance of this intimate, great-sounding, log building.
Outstanding national and regional musicians regularly grace our stages as feature acts. Our open-stage format also encourages performers at all levels, by providing friendly, supportive audiences in one of the top venues of the region.
Guest musicians rave about our attentive, appreciative audiences. Offer a great tune or a tasty break well played, and you just might experience the "Black Rose Stomp", during which the old, oak floor shakes with a rousing, sustained roar of approval.
JAMS
Most of our Meetup events are music jams. Making music with others is one of life’s simplest and truest joys. If you sing, play guitar, mandolin, banjo, fiddle, bass, dulcimer, dobro, harmonica, or any other acoustic instrument, or just want to listen, join us for music jams in a variety of different genres. All levels are welcome, from beginner to advanced.
