NOTE: The current version of the BIBGJS Song Book dated April 9, 2025, available on line (see link below).

Join us for a Beginner/Intermediate Bluegrass Jam (BIBGJS jam) led by JD Droddy. this Saturday morning from 10 AM to noon at Calvary United Methodist Church. These jams are now held the 2nd & 4th Saturday of each month.

These BIBGJS jams are a great introduction to bluegrass-style jamming for all levels of pickers and singers. If you know the basic chords of G-C-D on your acoustic instrument and want to learn how to play music with others, this is the jam for you. This jam, stylistically, is bluegrass; if you have questions about what that implies, please feel free to ask!

All levels of players are welcome, but the jam is geared toward beginners and intermediate players. Our goal is to get you to lead songs and play basic solos, We use the BIBGJS songbook that can be downloaded from the Black Rose Website (see below) or the Parking Lot Pickers book (Amazon) or you can bring your own sheet music to pass around (25 copies) Our songs are mostly 2-3 chord bluegrass or country-ish songs that should be easy to play and recognizable to most people.

We will be using breakout sessions for folks who want extra help or want to work on particular songs to lead. Doug will be there to help with break-out sessions.
