What we’re about
🌟 Goal of the Group
To create a vibrant community where Black women can come together to celebrate literature, sisterhood, and self-care. We’re more than a book club — we’re a space to connect, reflect, and grow through shared stories, wine nights, and conversations that matter.
⸻
💃🏿 Who We’re Hoping to Meet
• Black women who love to read — whether casual readers or avid bookworms.
• Women looking for a safe, uplifting, and empowering space to share thoughts and experiences.
• Readers who enjoy mixing good books with good vibes — laughter, honesty, and sisterhood.
• Those who want to explore diverse voices and stories that reflect our culture, challenges, and triumphs.
⸻
💻 What We’ll Do at Virtual Events
• Book Discussions: Break down our current reads with fun, thought-provoking questions.
• Wine & Words Nights: Pair our books with wine suggestions or mocktails.
• Author Chats: Virtual meet-ups with authors or guest speakers.
• Game Nights: Book trivia, icebreakers, and themed activities to keep things light and fun.
• Bonus Reads Threads: Avid readers can join optional side chats for “extra pours.”
⸻
🥂 What We’ll Do at In-Person Events
• Sip & Discuss Meetups: Gather at cozy spots or wine bars for book discussions.
• Themed Nights: Dress-up, 1920s Harlem Nights, or seasonal vibes with food + wine pairings.
• Workshops/Retreats: Journaling, wellness sessions, or vision board parties tied to our reading themes.
• Annual Conference/Weekend: A bigger event to bring members together — with panels, guest authors, and of course, wine tastings!
• Community Give-Backs: Partner with local schools/libraries for book drives or literacy projects.
