Black and Nerdy Gamers (BANG)

The event is open, so if it says closed, just join the waitlist and I will add you as Going.

Unwind after your work week on Friday, October 17th, with fun games, good vibes, and even better people, at Juiced Juice Bar in Raleigh on Hill St. In addition to the juices and smoothies, there will be light food options (including vegan/vegetarian options) for purchase on site. I’ve not gone the full organizer route, so the events caps at 10. Ignore that and RSVP anyway. Hard cut off at 9pm when Juiced closes.

Try to take over the world in a game of Risk. Make trades with other players and race to outgrow other settlers in Catan. Help your teammates locate the secret agents and avoid the assassin with Codenames. Or bring something fresh that you'd love to teach to other people. Whatever is speaking to you, the goal is to create a safe and welcoming space that lets you play the games you want, where you aren't the pepper in a room full of salt, ya know??

House Rules:

1. Good energy: Meeting new people can feel intimidating, let's not make it any harder than it has to be. Bring warmth, joy, and authenticity. Take it back to the playground when making new connections was easy.
2. BYOG: There will be quite a few games to choose from already, but feel free to bring your own to throw into the pot for folks to play or maybe even teach. venture off the beaten path a bit, though (leave Uno and Spades at home yall lol).
3. Though not required, this is strongly encouraged to be a Phone Free Function (you like that alliteration, right?!). We are rarely present these days, and not only does being glued to your phone make it harder to connect with people, but it also messes up certain games. There will be an area where you can set your phone down if you wish, or simply put it on DND. We are looking to cultivate community... with intention 🙏🏾
