Black Butterfly: 🌿 First Outdoor Gathering 🌿

Details
RESCHEDULED! This event is now rescheduled due to rain. A new event date will be posted soon.
Hi and welcome!
This event is a safe, supportive, and sensory-friendly space for Black & Indigenous folks who are Neurodivergent and Disabled to gather and be in nature together—on our own terms.
Since this is our first meetup, there is no formal structure and no pressure participate in any specific way. You are welcome to sit, move, listen, stim, or just breathe fresh air in community.
Accessibility & Accommodations
I will do my best to ensure this gathering is as accessible and comfortable as possible for everyone. If you’re interested in attending, please send me a message with any accommodations, support needs, or preferences that would help make this event feel safe and doable.
If you’re not sure what to request, that’s okay too—just come as you are.
Here are some things to consider sharing:
- Mobility needs (e.g., wheelchair-accessible pathways, seating options with back support, distance from parking)
- Sensory needs (e.g., preference for quiet or shaded spaces, low-stimulation environments)
- Communication preferences (e.g., nonverbal communication, need for written instructions)
- Pacing needs (e.g., slow walking, rest breaks)
- Masking & COVID safety preferences
- Any other access needs that would improve your experience
Location & Attendance
This event is open to 10 attendees. Once I gather accessibility needs, I’ll choose a location in Howard County that best supports us all and provide detailed information on parking, terrain, seating, and any other relevant access notes.
I believe we can co-create a space that truly feels good for all of us, and I look forward to connecting!
