The Race to Fusion Energy: Reality vs Hype
Details
The global effort to achieve fusion energy - cheap, clean, safe and unlimited energy - is getting media coverage, especially since the December merger of Trump’s media company with fusion company TAE. Including TAE, four companies have announced that they are actually building fusion power plants. Yet none have come close to achieving net energy production in the laboratory. Eric J. Lerner, President and Chief Scientist of LPPFusion, will sort the hype from the reality, discussing the different paths to fusion and where the various efforts stand in terms of real science, rather than of media profiles or money raised. Fusion is closer than many think, but only by the fastest route, not by the biggest bankrolls. Lerner has been active in fusion research for 40 years.
