Serving a meal to the homeless with Black Philadelphia!
Looking for an opportunity to give back? What better way than to serve a meal to some of Philadelphia's citizens experiencing homelessness or hunger? This is an easy done-in-a-day service project, but volunteers must be 13 or older!
SERIOUS COMMITMENTS ONLY! WE ONLY HAVE 10 SLOTS, SO PLEASE DO NOT RSVP UNLESS YOU ARE FIRMLY COMMITTED TO ATTENDING.
Small Things
"Small Things works with local partners and community leaders to alleviate poverty by improving food security and collaborating to address other community needs.
We are collecting non-perishable food items, including canned goods, canned protein, cereals, ready to eat pasta, self stable drinks, ready to go meals, soups and snacks. These donations will be distributed by the Small Things pantry on Saturdays serving those in need. So please when you come to volunteer with us please bring an item or two with you to donate. Every donation makes a difference, so let's come together to share kindness in our community."
This service event is for adults 13 years and older only, no exceptions. Meal service engages volunteers to plate food, hand trays out to guests, and clean up after service is done.
SERIOUS COMMITMENTS ONLY! WE ONLY HAVE 10 SLOTS, SO PLEASE DO NOT RSVP UNLESS YOU ARE FIRMLY COMMITTED TO ATTENDING. It does us no good to have 20 people RSVP and only 2 show up to serve.
Dress code
Volunteers must wear closed-toe shoes (no sandals or flip-flops allowed). Volunteers should wear pants. socks, and shoes. Aprons and plastic gloves will be provided.
FREE PARKING AVAILABLE TO VOLUNTEERS!
The kitchen is located on the second floor of Resurrection Church at 123 S. 17th St, and they validate parking for the day at Liberty Place Parkway garage about a block away.
AGAIN, SERIOUS COMMITMENTS ONLY! WE ONLY HAVE 10 SLOTS, SO PLEASE DO NOT RSVP UNLESS YOU ARE FIRMLY COMMITTED TO ATTENDING.
