BlackPress x Underrepresented in Tech

In the WordPress community, tech community, and global community - minority voices tend to have to work harder to reach the forefront. When underrepresented people are not included in teams, projects, or discussions, we all suffer.

In this talk, Allie Nimmons will introduce Underrepresented in Tech, a tool she co-founded with the goal of making diversity work easier. She will explain how the tool works, its history, and share her hopes for the tool's use in the future. There will be a Q&A section at the end of the talk where participants can ask questions about UIT and where Allie will ask for any feedback as she prepares for a redesign of the tool!

Speaker Bio
Allie is a 29-year-old, Austin-based, self-taught WordPress evangelist. She currently owns Beedia Productions, providing editing, voice-over, and production services to companies like Kinsta, WP 101, and LinkedIn Learning. She co-founded Underrepresented in Tech and co-hosts its podcast.

Allie loves talking about and connecting through WordPress. Her biggest joy comes in attending and speaking at WordPress meetups, virtual events, and WordCamps.
