“Making the Most of WCUS” will review actions one should take to prepare for WCUS, mindsets to keep in mind during the event, and recommendations for when it's all said and done. When attending a large industry event like WordCamp US, the networking and educational opportunities are almost limitless. But you get out of it what you put in! Whether you've been to an event like this before or are planning to go for the first time, you're sure to get something out of these tips. Allie Nimmons has attended a few dozen WordCamps in her time and has built her industry career and reputation off these unique and special interactions - and as an introvert, at that!

• Optimizing your website and social media: Make sure that if someone looks you up, prior to the event or as a result of meeting you, they truly get an idea of who you are and how they can reach out.
• Breaking the ice: Get some tips on networking at an intense event like WCUS.
• Following up and standing on business: The event is only the beginning. The real opportunities come after you've flown home, so long as you go get them.
