Early Access Film Screening: KEMA (Providence)
Details
Early Access Film Screening
When her life is upended by cancer, the sudden loss of her sister, and a storm that takes her home, Kema Ward stands at a crossroads. Instead of returning to what was, she follows a deeper pull that leads her to the wilds of Costa Rica.
Watch an early cut of a documentary about our very own Black Everywhere Health and Wellness Facilitator, and share your honest reflections to help shape the final film.
Help Shape A Documentary
We invite you to a special member feedback screening of KEMA, a documentary-in-progress exploring grief, healing, wellness, and joy through a deep relationship with nature.
Your reflections will directly inform how KEMA continues to evolve.
About The Film
The jungle teaches Kema that her healing is not about erasing loss but recognizing the countless small deaths that make life whole. In its rhythms, Kema discovers her calling: to become a death doula, helping others reclaim their final moments as sacred and self-directed.
Intimate and introspective, KEMA is a portrait of a Black woman reclaiming her life beyond survival, holding space for grief while also embracing rest, softness, joy, and intentional living.
We’d love to have you with us.
