What we’re about

This is an online group open worldwide for people of African descent.  The purpose of this group is to provide a forum for people of African descent, to discuss psychedelics. Below are some research papers that inspired the creation of this group:

• Ensuring the psychedelic renaissance and radical healing reach the Black community: Commentary on Culture and Psychedelic Psychotherapy (https://akjournals.com/view/journals/2054/aop/article-10.1556-2054.2020.00145/article-10.1556-2054.2020.00145.xml)

• The psychedelic renaissance and the limitations of a White-dominant medical framework: A call for indigenous and ethnic minority inclusion (https://akjournals.com/view/journals/2054/4/1/article-p4.xml)

• Race as a component of set and setting: How experiences of race can influence psychedelic experiences (https://akjournals.com/view/journals/2054/4/1/article-p51.xml)

• People of color in North America report improvements in racial trauma and mental health symptoms following psychedelic experiences (https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/09687637.2020.1854688)

Culture and psychedelic psychotherapy: Ethnic and racial themes from three Black women therapists (https://akjournals.com/view/journals/2054/aop/article-10.1556-2054.2020.00137/article-10.1556-2054.2020.00137.xml)

If these articles (or just the titles of them) resonate with you then please consider checking out a meeting.  Each meeting has a rotating host who facilitates discussion. After a round of introductions, the host provides a topic related to the black psychedelic experience.  The meeting is opened up and each person is given a chance to share for 3-5 minutes.

NOTE: THIS GROUP IS NOT A FORUM TO DISCUSS CULTIVATION OF ANY SORTS.  PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS GROUP FOR SOLICITATION OF ILLEGAL SUBSTANCES. ALL SUCH POSTS WILL BE IMMEDIATELY DELETED AND MEMBERS BANNED.
