Let's try something different!
For this class (and moving forward?) I'd like to try starting with "rope flow," then "ball circles," and finally the ball form.

Rope Flow
Jump rope without the jumping!
This involves swinging a ~1lb rope (~9-10ft) around the body in various ways. Overhand, underhand, stationary or while shifting weight or walking, etc. Teaches coordination, timing, flow, and gets us moving the hips properly for Tai Chi.

Ball Circles
Three simple exercises with a weighted ball (2-4lbs) to train coordination and transfer of force through the body. We can do very similar movements empty-hand to demonstrate martial applications of Taiji principles!

Ball Form
A short form very similar to the Beijing 24 form, but with proper mechanics included and a weighted ball to provide both gentle resistance and a focal point to make "where do my hands go?" very intuitive.

Classes are free, with a suggested donation of $10, if you are so inclined. Cash or Paypal, please! Proceeds support teaching props (such as the ropes and weights), liability insurance, and continued education.
Please don't feel pressured to donate! The goals in hosting this group are to spread the art and its' benefits and to practice with like-minded community.
