ABOUT GAYE ADEGBALOLA …..
Gaye’s legacy? Blues with purpose. Music with soul. Change with rhythm. Gaye Todd Adegbalola is a blues powerhouse, activist, and founding member of Saffire – The Uppity Blues Women (1984–2009), signed to Alligator Records, as well as the group Wild Rutz. She’s dropped six solo albums on her own label, Hot Toddy Music, and snagged the prestigious Blues Music Award (aka the Grammy of blues). Her many other awards include being named OUTstanding Virginian by Equality Virginia for LGBTQ+ advocacy (2011); Parents’ Choice Gold Award for her kids’ album Blues in All Flavors (2019); National Women’s Music Festival Social Change Through Music Award (2018); and KoKo Taylor Queen of the Blue” Award (2019).
