ABOUT ISLE of KLEZBOS
The all-women Isle of Klezbos ensemble approaches Yiddish musical tradition with loving irreverence and profound respect. Together more than 25 years, the sextet has toured from Vienna to Vancouver. Albums include Greetings from the Isle of Klezbos, Live From Brooklyn, and Yiddish Silver Screen. They’ve been seen and heard on HBO, NPR, PBS, CBS Sunday Morning, and The L Word as well as enjoying collaborations with artists such as Jill Sobule, and the Grammy-nominated, platinum-selling Scissor Sisters. The group's own Off-Off Broadway hit J. Edgar Klezmer: Songs from My Grandmother's FBI Files was praised by the New York Times for lively score & smart writing.
