Jasper N.P. Summer Backpacking Trip
Details
Summer is coming and with it great multi-day backpacking trips in the mountains! This year we are organizing a trip to Jasper National Park in Alberta, Canada.
As part of this trip, we will first spend 4 days (3 nights) backpacking the Skyline Trail to Jasper, one of the most beautiful trails in the park. A significant section of the hike will be above the tree line with great views. And we're coming in during the alpine flower bloom season, so it will look like in a garden. After that we will spend another 4 days (3 nights) backpacking the Brazeau Loop in Jasper N.P.
This is a very challenging trip. We may encounter some snow in places. We may see grizzly bears, too. You have to be self-sufficient, carry all your gear all the way up and down in steep mountains. This is a trip only for quite experienced hikers and backpacker in an excellent physical shape.
Unfortunately, because of the park regulations, the number of participants is limited. Available spots will be preferentially assigned to Blaze>> members who meet the experience requirements and have been organizing Blaze>> events in the last year or have been among the most active members of our group.
Participants will have to fly to Calgary, AB, no later than on Friday, August 9 in the evening and not leave back before Tuesday, August 20. We will spend 6 nights in tents and 5 nights in motels (11 nights total).
The total cost of this trip including airfare, hotels, park fees, and car rentals is expected to be around $1,500.
For those interested, please sign up on the waiting list. We still have a spot or two available. Someone may also cancel. I will contact you via e-mail and move you to the "yes" column once you re-confirm your interest.
