Making my triumph return to hiking this Sunday, Palm Sunday ๐, feel free to join! Looking to once again explore Bearfort Ridge and Prospect Rock in Abram Hewitt State Forest. We will meet at Cascade Lake near Warwick, NY. This hike is doable for beginners if you can walk long distances.
From there we will hike an old woods road and turn LEFT to connect to the Appalachian Trail (White).
We will then turn RIGHT onto (Yellow) the Earnest Walter Trail and continue STRAIGHT onto the new West Ridge Trail (Pink) which will then connect to the renamed Bearfort Ridge Loop Trail (Green) where we turn RIGHT and continue until we get to Surprise Lake which connects to the Earnest Walter Trail (Yellow).
We then will take the Earnest Walter Trail (Yellow) to the State Line Trail (Blue) where we will turn LEFT and continue till, we get onto the Appalachian Trail (White) near State Line Rock. We will turn RIGHT and stay on the AT (White) which will cross back into NY. We will visit Prospect Rock staying on (White) and just after the viewpoint which has a flagpole, we will find the (Blue) trail which we will make a LEFT on and stay on till we get to the parking lot.
