What we’re about
DevOps is a movement that mainly aims for a better cooperation between operations and development and every part of your company.
You can follow us on twitter @blndevops or drop us a mail blndevops-organizers@googlegroups.com
Wikipedia has also a definition for DevOps: “… It relates to the emerging understanding of the interdependence of development and operations in meeting a business’ goal to producing timely software products and services.”. To solve this interdependence we need to cooperate to produce software, which can be good managed and operated. But on the other hand, that means that good software relays upon good operation practices.
The group aims to bring Berlin’s system administrators, system engineers, system developers, web operators, software engineers, test engineers, software architects and alike together and create a platform for information and knowledge exchange.
We concentrate on the following topics: * Achieving better results through cooperation * Operations of IT Systems * “Infrastructure as code” and system automation. * Monitoring systems * Agile methods * Continuous Integration and Deployment * and many more ...

Backup and Disaster Recovery: The Potential Emergency as an Architecture Accelerator
The digital transformation has fundamentally changed our IT landscapes, and with it, the challenges of backup and disaster recovery. Instead of just securing data, today it's about instant recovery and seamless failovers.
This talk shows how proactive emergency planning and preparation for disaster recovery go beyond ensuring business continuity: It becomes a catalyst for reducing technical debt and rejuvenating system architecture.
We show how seemingly "mandatory exercises" in the area of backup and recovery actually act as a driving force for sustainable improvement of the IT landscape. Imagine applying TDD (Test Driven Development) to your overall architecture to make your systems more robust and future-proof.
