December DevOps Meetup kindly hosted by Babbel!
• The Talks
-
Automating Jenkins Rollouts (Christoph Burmeister)
Currently at idealo we develop a tool for bootstrapping our Jenkins instances based on a selfmade Groovy-script framework called "JRC - Jenkins Remote Configuration". That seems promising to us as now we're able to rollout Jenkins instances based on git revisions including configurations, plugins, tools, slaves, credentials and so on. This will make it quite easy to provide teams with their own build engines and helps with integrating work between Ops and Devs. -
Docker Compose for Developing Micro Services (Can Kutlu Kınay)
Lightning Talk -
Serverless Babbel. Why and how are we using with AWS Lambda (Christian Requena)
Lightning Talk -
Root for All - Measuring DevOps Adoption (Schlomo Schapiro)
This talk explores the connection between root access and automation on one hand and DevOps mindsets, cross functional teams and shared responsibility on the other hand. Based on practical experiences at Zalando and at ImmobilienScout24 the talk provides concrete suggestions for achieving true DevOps happiness. As a result you will know why in the end there is no harm at all in granting root access to everybody.
