Ethereum Hackathon II

Details

After the great success of the last Ethereum Introductory Workshop, round two is coming up!

During the first part of the event, there will be an open coding session. You can drop in, set up Ethereum or experiment with writing contracts. Ethereum CTO Gavin Wood and developer Aeron Buchanan will both be there to help out with any questions. During the second part, Gavin will give a workshop that explores some of Ethereum's features more in-depth.

This will be a great chance to experiment with and get a solid understanding of one of the most exciting and ambitious projects in the crypto currency space! And for those who were there last time and have some of the basics down, you can take your experimentation to the next level

(Thanks go to Florian Idelberger for organizing the space with Wikimedia Deutschland e.V.!)

What is Ethereum?

Ethereum is a platform and a programming language that makes it possible for any developer to build and publish next-generation distributed applications.

Ether, Ethereum's cryptofuel, powers the applications on the decentralized network.

Ethereum can be used to codify, decentralize, secure and trade just about anything: voting, domain names, financial exchanges, crowdfunding, company governance, contracts and agreements of most kind, intellectual property, and even smart property thanks to hardware integration.

Ethereum borrows the concept of decentralized consensus that makes bitcoin so resilient, yet makes it trivial to build on its foundation. To find out more about how Ethereum works, consult the white (https://github.com/ethereum/wiki/wiki/%5BEnglish%5D-White-Paper) and yellow (http://gavwood.com/Paper.pdf) papers.

Who is this for?

The event is primarily aimed at developers of any level who want to play around with Ethereum and writing Ethereum contracts and applications. If you're just excited about Ethereum, but not a developer feel free to come anyway. We'll make sure you learn plenty as well!

What's the schedule?

16.00 - 19.00 Free Coding

19.00 - 21.00 Ethereum Workshop II

21.00 - 22.00 More Coding

Gavin and Aeron will be there the entire time and is available to help out with any projects and questions.

What is the location?

The event will be at the Wikimedia Deutschland e.V. in the MOSAIK room. Drinks will be sponsored by DEV Berlin (Ethereum Development Team).
